Launched earlier this year, the Fox Writers Intensive (FWI) is an advanced writer’s program designed to nurture a diversity of writers and create a pipeline of talent for potential staffing on Fox productions. Kevin Reilly, entertainment president at Fox Broadcasting Company (FBC), announced that Thomas Wong was selected as the first FWI fellow. Represented by the Gersh Agency, Wong has signed an agreement with FBC for the purchase and development of his original submission “Queen.” “The writers I met with during the Fox Writers Intensive program were diverse in background, genre and subject matter,” says Hart Hanson, creator and executive producer of “Bones.” “What these writers did have in common was intelligence, talent and ambition, not to mention energy.” All of the FWI finalists are being submitted for potential staffing on current and future Fox productions.
