timcaldwellThe high-end film and digital camera and lens retailer, Fletcher Camera & Lenses, has recently hired Tim Caldwell as their Technical Service Manager.

“Tim’s rich technical background and commitment to service make him an ideal fit to lead our Services Division,” says Zoe Borys, General Manager of Fletcher Camera & Lenses. “Tim’s wealth of experience and best practices enriches our team and further enhance our service offerings to our clients.”

In 1983 Caldwell started his career at Panavision and soon worked his way through the organization becoming a central figure in Panavision’s manufacturing division. Caldwell has 28 years experience as a camera operator/technician and service provider in the film and digital camera industry. Before moving to Chicago in 2010, Caldwell spent five years as the Service Manager for Panavision NY, simultaneously establishing their new HD department and servicing clients during a period of explosive growth in the NY market. Between his stints for Panavision on the east and west coasts, Caldwell was recruited by Plus 8, a top tier rental house with facilities in the US and Canada, to head their operations department in both Burbank and NY.

Says Mr. Caldwell, “I feel very fortunate to be a part of Fletcher, and feel Chicago is in a really great position to shine and show what it has to offer in the production industry. I love customer service, and truly find it a pleasure to help provide the tools that give filmmakers and artists the ability to work at the top of their game.”

A self-described still photographer at heart, Mr. Caldwell received his BA with honors from UCLA’s film school and has worked closely with filmmakers for a number of high-profile features, television shows and films, including Boardwalk Empire, The Sopranos, I Am Legend, and the Star Wars prequels.
