Marshall Electronics Introduces World’s First Camera-Top Field Monitor with HDMI Loop-Through

Marshall Electronics, a manufacturer of LCD monitors for Broadcast, Studio, Television, and Production, introduces the world’s first camera-top portable field monitor with integrated HDMI loop-through. This highlydesired feature allows the camera operator to pass-through the HDMI video input from the V-LCD70XP-HDMIPT to another monitor for a client, director, focus puller or crew/talent member to view on-location. This handy "all-in-one" solution bypasses the need for HDMI splitters, additional power sources and other requirements necessary to split the signal.
The V-LCD70XP-HDMIPT monitor includes composite and component inputs, HDMI pass-through, DSLR Ratio Adjustment, adjustable backlight and markers, HDMI Auto Color Space and Ratio detect, manual gamma adjustment, Image Flip, 1/4"-20 mounting on all sides, and a robust power switch.

Other features include a wide variety of screen formats and markers, 4 userconfigurable front panel function buttons, RGB Check Field / Field Detect, and RGB gain and bias control. Three major features include Marshall’s well-received and industry standard FALSE COLOR and PEAKING Filters, along with the new DSLR RATIO ADJUSTMENT feature for Canon DSLRs: · Marshall's new DSLR RATIO ADJUSTMENT feature allows users to scale video that does not completely fill the monitor's screen when connected via HDMI in "Record" mode on certain Canon DSLRs. This new feature allows the user to scale their DSLR video output, fill the screen, and eliminate black pillar bars with a variety of options to choose from. The user has the option of choosing between NORMAL, 3:2, 16:9, and FULL SCREEN. The DSLR RATIO ADJUSTMENT feature can be programmed to one of the front panel's four-button presets for quick and easy access.

· The False Color filter is used to aid in the setting of camera exposure. As the camera Iris is adjusted, elements of the image will change color based on the luminance or brightness values. This enables proper exposure to be achieved without the use of costly, complicated external test equipment.

· The Peaking Filter is used to aid the camera operator in obtaining the sharpest possible picture. When activated, all color will be removed from the display and a black-and-white image will remain. The internal processor will display RED color on the screen where sharp edges appear. When the camera operator adjusts (or "racks") the focus control (on the camera lens), different parts of the image will have RED-colored edges. This indicates that that portion of the image is sharp or in focus. Final focus is achieved by racking the camera lens focus control back and forth
until the desired portion of the image has RED-colored edges. The V-LCD70XP-HDMIPT offers the ability to adapt up to nine different battery configurations for providing mobile operation in the field. This option provides flexibility when using different cameras or configurations. All battery configurations can be interchanged (or “swapped” out) by the end-user.
