Corman Top 10 originalLegendary Producer/Director Roger Corman is eyeing China as a locale for more indie filmmaking. He has already produced two feature films in China, and has access to several small, independent studios in its cities. “[These studios] were much less expensive than using a major Shanghai studio,” reports Corman, whose positive experience has prompted plans for a third film. Corman and Producer Julie Corman are also launching their new subscription-based “Corman’s Drive-In” channel on YouTube. “We’ll release cult classics and some modern titles and screen the best pictures from six decades,” says the filmmaker. These selections will be handpicked from their vault of more than 400 films. “Roger has always been on the cutting-edge,” says Julie Corman, “and now he’s paving the way for independent filmmakers by testing a new distribution platform.”
