According to company officials, Radiant Images has always been the parent name of the business, which was founded by Michael Mansouri and Gianna Wolfe in 2005. The partners began with the name of HD Camera Rentals to target a specific audience and set themselves apart from competitors. The switch back to Radiant Images was made, because it better defines a wider reach of services the company provides for preproduction, production and postproduction. This includes 2D and 3D cinema solutions and designing and building custom rigs. “The return to Radiant Images marks an evolution back to the beginning as digital technology moves beyond the HD format,” says Co-founder Michael Mansouri. “Digital and 3D technology is changing every day, and we’re keeping up ─ even staying ahead ─ so we decided we needed our name to capture that. It sets us apart from other rental houses, because our primary purpose is not just to rent cameras but to find creative solutions.”

The facility has increased its square footage to more than 20,000, and a high-precision lens and sensor diagnostic room has been added, all of which offers additional space, comfort and convenience to its growing list of film industry clients. “Since we began six years ago, our reputation has grown as innovators and problem solvers,” notes Mansouri. “We like to think that we provide a spark of creativity to the projects we are involved in by discovering new and better ways to utilize cameras and gear to get the job done right. This type of hands-on, creative approach benefits our clients and has been the main reason for our growth from a small shop to a large facility.”

Radiant Images unveiled its new name and logo at the recent J. L. Fisher Mixer and BBQ lunch and is preparing to showcase the latest cutting-edge cameras, rigs and gear at the upcoming Cine Gear Expo on June 2-5 in Hollywood, Calif.
