NBCUniversal recently announced Michael Moore, the current president of Raleigh Entertainment/Raleigh Film and Television Studios, LLC, will become President and General Manager of Universal Studios Operations. Moore assumes his responsibilities at Universal beginning September 17, 2012. Moore will be part of NBCUniversal Operations and Technical Services organization and will oversee all the operations of Universal City Studios, including Production Services, Sound Services, Facilities, and Marketing. He will report jointly to Ron Meyer, President and Chief Operating Officer, Universal Studios and John Wallace, President, Operations & Technical Services, NBCUniversal. Moore replaces Dave Beanes who is retiring at the end of the year after 42 years in the industry and 17 years with the company.
“Michael has the rare combination of skills to effectively lead our Studio Operations group and ensure the long-term success of this world-class Studio Lot, says Meyer as he also commended Beanes for his service. "Dave has been a great partner and we thank him for his years of hard work, dedication and loyalty to the company.”
Wallace added, “A proven leader, Michael has a strong track record in our industry and has shown he has the right production and post-production experience to guide this organization. We thank Dave for his valuable leadership and appreciate him stepping into this role last year and helping us transition for our future.”
