 The Cinequest Film Festival is back in San Jose, California and will run from Feb. 23 - March 7, 2010. Celebrating its 20th Anniversary, Cinequest is making 2010 a year to celebrate the revolutionaries in the industry who have paved the way for some of today's bright young filmmakers. Major highlights to this years festival include: 76 U.S., North American and World Premieres; representation from forty-five countries; Artist & Innovator Forums that include an array of films from the indusries leading artists on and off the screen. Sunday, March 7th has been labeled an Encore Day and has been added at the end of the festival to screen this years Cinequest award winners. The California Theater, Camera 12 Cinemas, Camera 3 Cinemas and the San Jose Repatory Theater will be fully occupied by Cinequest to showcase their international collection of films. All venues will be within a four block radius making easily assessable for Cinequest attendees. Bay Area native Benjamin Bratt (Miss Congeniality) will be receiving the Cinequest's highest honor, The Maverick Spirit Award, on March 4 at San Jose's California Theater after a screening of La MISSION. Cinequest and SanDisk joined forces to bring the Cinequest "as ScanDisk presents the Phone Flick Contest & Voter Sweepstakes. This unique competition brought together twenty fimmakers to compete for a a Grand Prize of $5,000 by making a film using a video-capable mobile phone. The Public and Cinequest audiences can vote for their favorite films until February 16th at http://www.youtube.com/user/SANDISK.
