As the DSLR technology movement continues to take film and TV industries by storm, several training centers, industry forums and equipment exhibitions are surfacing, and last September one such Hollywood event pulled everything together. The PhotoCine Expo, whose attendees were mostly photographers venturing into DSLR production, took place at the Los Angeles Film School’s newly remodeled facilities in Hollywood, Calif.

Sunset Gower Studios Hosts L.A. Fashion Weekend
L.A. Fashion Weekend was recently held at Sunset Gower Studios. Produced in the heart of Hollywood by Mikey Koffman’s event production and marketing company, The Gallery Los Angeles, the three-day runway marathon spotlighted fresh faces and seasoned fashion models instead of the usual movie stars. The spring collections featured lots of casual glamour and rocker chic while new eco-friendly designs got the most coverage by camera crews.

A poor economic climate, warm days and periodic showers in Amsterdam didn’t stop nearly 50,000 attendees from attending the IBC Show, an annual event for professionals engaged in the creation, management and delivery of entertainment news and content. The event provided attendees with insight on the current state of the industry and the next wave of lighter, faster and more proficient equipment and technology, which happens to be P3 Update’s editorial focus.
