The Tupelo Film Commission has supported projects consisting of commercials, documentaries, television programs, music videos, shorts, students, and feature films since it began its operation in 1989. Tupelo prides itself in its hospitality, municipality support, governmental collaborative spirit, great state incentive program, accessibility to surrounding regional sites, a consciousness for time-efficient and cost effective productions and permit free city. We are here to help you take script to screen! To help you fund your project Mississippi offers a competitive incentive program. The Mississippi Motion Picture Incentive Program returns a cash rebate of 20% on our local spend (including non-resident cast and crew) and offers 25% on Mississippi cast and crew wages. No, Mississippi may not have the largest incentive package in our country but check out the minimum spend! Something to think about!! There is a twenty thousand dollar ($20,000) minimum Mississippi investment (spend) per project, an eight million ($8,000,000) maximum rebate per project, and a twenty million dollar ($20,000,000) maximum rebate cap per fiscal year (June 1– June 30). Tupelo offers diversity with its locations and a facility of up to two (2) million square feet of open space under one roof within the city limits with numerous amenities that are included – it is an excellent innovative alternative to sound stages (click on www.tupelofilmfestival.net).
